Mike Southworth
Mike is an award-winning video editor, sound designer, composer, and mixer. He leads our team as post production supervisor and head editor.
Mike has worked on hundreds of commercials, music videos, and films over the past twenty years with clients like Google, Amazon, Telus, Nintendo, Valve, Electronic Arts, RBC, Ford, Mini and Chevrolet.
His work as post production supervisor, video editor and composer for The International DOTA2 championships helped the team win a technical achievement EMMY award in 2021. His work has also won multiple awards from Applied Arts, the Junos and the WCMAs.

Mixer | Producer | Sound Designer
Jamie Kuse
Jamie is a Juno Award winning mix engineer and producer with credits racking up over half a billion streams.
He served as lead soundtrack engineer for the hit Netflix series "Riverdale" and continues to work with Canada's biggest artists and production companies as a mixer, producer and sound designer.

Colourist
Devan Scott
Devan Scott brings his background in cinematography and a narrative-first approach to the grading suite, specializing in custom film emulation and the intersection of digital innovation and classical film aesthetics.
Devan has worked on over 80 feature, doc and shorts with work featured at major festivals including TIFF, VIFF, and Raindance.
In the commercial space, he has graded campaigns for brands like Google, Lululemon, Telus, and Lush.
Devan focuses on delivering precise, story-driven visuals across features, documentaries, and high-end commercial formats.

Composer
Hilary Grist
Hilary’s music can evoke emotion with ease, and their cinematic conductivity translates as well to the big and small screens as it does to her listeners’ real-life narratives.
Her music has enhanced dramatic and romantic sequences in a vast number of television programs, including Grimm (NBC), Being Human (NBC), Arctic Air (CBC), Hello Goodbye (CBC), Heartland (CBC), Continuum (Showcase), Degrassi (MuchMusic), and many more.

Producer
Joanna Dundas
Joanna is a key part of the NOVA team because of her mastery of managing complex project schedules and deadlines. She has over 20 years of experience working as a producer in Vancouver’s cultural community. Trained as a professional singer, she has also served in a variety of roles off-stage: theatre, audio and video producer, video director and editor, project manager, facilitator and digital strategist, among others.

Doug Fury
Every team needs a Rockstar, and Doug is ours. Doug has written songs on many Gold and Platinum hit albums and has toured the world playing guitar. He brings out his rock and pop chops when we need an original composition or score that sounds like a radio hit.
Doug is also an established video editor with 10 years of experience in commercial, corporate and music videos.

Engineer | Composer
Gabriel Macdonald
Gabriel is a composer and audio engineer with a diverse background spanning feature film, multimedia production, and live performance. He studied Film Scoring and Audio Production at Selkirk College for Contemporary Music & Technology, and is also a graduate of the Canadian College of Performing Arts. As a mixer and producer, Gabriel has collaborated with artists across a wide range of genres. As a vocalist, he is an award-winning performer who has toured across Canada and internationally, and has held leading roles in professional musical theatre productions nationwide.

NOVA Studios is one of Canada’s most accurate mixing environments. Designed by renowned acoustic architect JH Brandt, the room boasts stunning accuracy for recording, mixing and mastering.
NOVA features world class Dolby ATMOS Certified 7.1.4 audio monitoring provided by ATC SCM100 ASL’s and triple 15” Rhythmik subwoofers, as well as industry standard Yamaha NS10 and Auratone. View your video in confidence with our 65" OLED Color Calibrated display.
Our voice recording booth is highly acoustically treated to avoid any colouration or noise and stocked with industry standard professional vocal mics including Nuemann u87 and Sony c800g.

Studio B is NOVA Post’s dedicated visual finishing suite, engineered for total color accuracy and client experience.
NOVA offers a complete visual finishing solution for cinema, broadcast, and streaming. We provide expert color grading in a calibrated environment featuring a calibrated 65" OLED client monitor for Rec709 and P3 accuracy.
Our end-to-end workflow includes seamless online editorial conforming from Avid, Premiere, FCP and Resolve, alongside final mastering and DCI-compliant 2K/4K DCP creation with full support for subtitles and encryption.
